Welcome to FirstShiftMD. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the FirstShiftMD website, our downloadable materials, and our courses (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
FirstShiftMD provides skill oriented practical medical education for medical students, residents, and practicing clinicians. Our materials include free downloadable case decks, articles, and paid or free online courses.
2. Educational purpose only
All content provided through the Services is for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, it does not establish a doctor-patient relationship, and it is not a substitute for clinical judgment, institutional protocols, supervision, or the guidance of qualified instructors. Always follow the policies of your institution and the applicable standard of care. Never make clinical decisions based solely on our materials.
3. Accounts and forms
Some Services ask you to submit information about yourself, such as your name, email address, institution, and specialty. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for the confidentiality of any credentials you use with the Services.
4. Free materials and licenses
When you download our free materials, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use them for your own education. You may not sell, redistribute, republish, or claim authorship of our materials, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission. Sharing brief excerpts for teaching or discussion with attribution is welcome.
5. Paid courses
When paid courses become available, additional terms, including pricing, access periods, and refund policies, will be presented at the time of purchase. Those terms will form part of your agreement with us for that purchase.
6. Intellectual property
The Services and all content we create, including text, design, logos, course materials, and compilations, are owned by FirstShiftMD or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Case materials sourced from third-party archives are used consistent with their licenses, and attribution for such sources is stated within the relevant materials.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Services. This includes not attempting to gain unauthorized access, not scraping or bulk-downloading content, not interfering with the operation of the site, and not using the Services to send spam or unlawful content.
8. Third-party links
The Services may link to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Accessing them is at your own risk.
9. Disclaimers

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will survive.
